De-Addiction Center
FIDES, committed to uplifting the marginalized, has been addressing substance abuse through its
De-Addiction Programme, offering care and rehabilitation to individuals struggling with alcohol
and drug addiction. Since its re-launch in October 2021, FIDES has supported over 154 patients
from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Initially conducted in partnership with a hospital, the programme faced space constraints,
prompting the inauguration of FIDES’s own De-Addiction Centre on November 30, 2022.
Treatment includes:
● 30-day medical detoxification
● Spiritual, psychological, and physical care
● 30-day follow-up and reintegration support
● Individual and family counseling
The Sisters from the Provincial House conduct regular sessions at the new Centre, focusing on:
● Cleansing the mind through spiritual and value-based classes
● Strengthening immunity with healthy routines and nutrition
● Preventing relapse through counseling and structured engagement.
These interventions have effectively reduced disruptive behaviors and aided long-term recovery.
Success Stories are:
● Mr. Nagaraj, a homeless man from Hassan, is now cured and employable in masonry.
● Mr. Thippanna, once addicted, is now reunited with his wife and daughter.
● Mr. Chethan, rescued from the streets, is under treatment and preparing to rejoin his
family.
The FIDES De-Addiction Centre continues to heal individuals and restore families, especially
from poor backgrounds. We seek continued support and collaboration to expand this vital
mission and help more lives break free from addiction.
