Women's Day
On 1st December 2024, around 500 migrant children from various centers gathered at St. Joseph's Commerce College for a day of fun and celebration at the Bala Mela event. Children from Ramaiah Colony, Water Tank, Cheemasandra 1, Cheemasandra 2, and Kaverinagar joined with kids from other areas.
The Jesuit Fathers from ASHIRWAD had organized this event, treating everyone to a delicious breakfast and an inaugural program that set the tone for the day. The chief guest, Mr. Lokesh Kumar from Comedy Kiladigalu, along with other fathers started the event by lighting the lamp.
The children were welcomed with a traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a beautiful prayer dance that that invoked the presence of God.
As the morning progressed, the kids were given tokens to explore the play area, where 12 exciting games awaited them. After playing, the children were treated to a mouth-watering meal that left everyone satisfied and happy.
The afternoon was filled with wonderful performances, including beautiful group dances and skits that showcased the children's talents. The audience really ware amazed by their performance, and it was no surprise that children from Cheemasandra, Water Tank, and Kaverinagar took home three prizes in the dance and skit.
As the day drew to a close, each child was given a special Christmas gift, a reminder of the love and care that surrounded them. With full hearts and big smiles, the children bid farewell to their new friends and the wonderful organizers.
